Egyptian Make-up Pot
Make-up pots were used for powders and pastes to cover the face and mainly on the eye. It was used by men and women to look attractive as well as protecting them from the heat. "Kohl" was the black makeup used for the eye. It was made from powdered antimony, burnt almonds, black copper oxide and brown ocher. The pots were used around
1800 - 200 BC and were made from clay.
